A decent break even point is 2 yrs min- from there on a profit margin of atleast 30% per annum on the intial investment on the animals. Cosidering all factors of labor, fodder, daily managment requirements. This is the most lowest side.

Now a days many of my clients were closed the goat farming without any reason.And also I enquired most of farmers about closing the goat & sheep farms .But they have told the reason for closing cant be explained.

I heard many, the issue is the poor management, lack of space, marketing and many to add to.

All people know is goat gives 2 kids every 8 months, so its easy to have a goat farm. That is not the case, there is a lot of hardwork and dedicattion, labor is a main factor, also people think they can start a commercial goat farm with a little budget"that's not possible" if you want to make it commercial.

There are many said factor and many untold.

If you come across any farmer closing down, please direct them to me, atleast i help them find a good rate for their animals.

Dear sir,
I am in Gulbarga Karnataka having 10 acres of land. I have built a shed for goats and had 65 goats 18 months back. Now i have 15 only. I have sold all the others at a loss. They were the local variety. But I have not lost faith that goat farming is not profitable in the long run. I wish to start all over again and at present thinking of going to Osmanabad to buy some goats. Is it possible for you to help me out especially with buying a good breed of goats.
