Best time is 1st week of April. Under irrigated condition, it can be planted in late feb. and early march . Even planting in May-June is fine .

Under irrigated conditions, it can be planted well in advance during the mi ddle of February or early March. Burning the
surface soil and early planting with the receipt o f summer showers results in higher yield and reduces disease incidence.
