Fish Farming (aqua culture) is done in ponds. Normally Indian Major Carps (5 varieties) are cultured together with Fresh Water prawns. Standard size of ponds is 100M x 100M X 1.5 M depth. Feeding is done regularly & the growth of fish, their health etc. is regularly monitored.
A part of the pond water is regularly replaced with fresh water to keep the fishes healthy.
Production in the pond can be substantially increased with aeration, regular feeding & frequent change of pond water.
The prawns are ready for market size in 6 months time.
