Hi vsrchowdary,

Do you know the profitability in EMU farming? The business model is a failure in TN.

If you have more details on the profitability, please share with us so that we can also understand.

Regards

Emu farming - suitability of land

Sandy soil is also ideal for rearing emu birds . It is very easy for removal of litter and maintence is easy and premises will be clean always.

Regarding emu farming with 50 pairs of NABARD scheme with outlay of Rs.30 Lakhs with with subsidy component of Rs.7.50 Lakhs can be utilised with the help of term loan from Bank or a Cooperative . Emu bird hatceries units started 5 years back have got lucrative profit margins as they have sold the chicks for rearing to other farmers at a cost of Rs.6000-7000/- per chick and eggs at Rs.2000/- each for hatching.

Now the sales have come down due to lack of demand from other farmers. One Emu meat and Oil export unit was being constructed at Nuziveedu near (50 KMs) Vijayawada (Krishna Dt) of AP viz M/s Vineela Emu Products which was fiananced by SyndicateBank . If the unit starts functioning the birds can be grown for fattening purpose and can be sold to the company at the Rate of Rs.312/- per Kg of live weight. similarly in Tamil Nadu also some units may come up. Hence we can proceed for taking up the activity.

If any project report is required for availing term loan of Rs.27 Lakhs from Banks please contact the undersigned: G.Ananda Rao, B.Sc (Ag) , Vijaya agro Consultants, 9703128495.

Emu Farming

Brother,

In Tamilnadu, Emu companies are proven as FRAUD....Read articles before invest...

As per the Tamilnadu live stock department... for a Emu bird after 16 months, only Rs. 2500 is profitable.. This report published by TN Live stock department
