Digging Pits for Bananas

Hi all!

My farm is located in Rajasthan and I am planning to plant Banana plants under High density system. Which means I have to dig about 1600 pits per acre. The cost of digging each pit by JCB comes to around Rs. 15.00 per pit. Which is Rs. 24,000.00 per acre.

Can anyone suggest a cheaper way to do this?

Hi,

Digging pit is beneficial for the banana plant to grow at its full potential so as to get maximum yield. But why you are doing it through JCB. You can do it via tractor through post hole digger. You can purchase digger from following companies for Banana Plantation

Mr Mehtha,

kindly engage the JCB for digging pits for banana.As per Mr Manoj singh advice you will invest nearly Rs 65000/- for digging unit attachment.i dnt whether you are having the tractor or not? .realy if you have tractor kindly think about fuel for tractor for digging the pits.So by using the tractior the cost will be Rs 25/-per pit.So you will have a nice negocitaion with the JCB owner to reduce the rate as Rs 12/- per pit.
