hey guys i plan to set up a desi poultry farm in a backyard setup in collaboration eith a village close to matheran - 150 kms from mumbai. i have done some research and figured out that the best breeds would be giriraja, vanaraja and krishibro. i wanted information on where i can buy these breeds around mumbai and for what price. any other information will be much appreciated. thank you.

The birds you mentioned are not Desi poultry breeds. They are crossbreds. You can rear them in semi-intensive conditions. The disadvantage is they caanot run and escape from predators.The birds you mentioned are available with veterinary universities of AP and Karnataka and also with ICAR poultry directorate, hyderabad and also with many KVKs.
