Hello Everyone,

This is David Raphael, currently working as a Manager - Information Technology in a rporate firm in Mumbai, professional experienece more than 28 years. I have no interest in continuing with the job and wants to quit. I am very much interested to start some agricultutre / horticulture farmimg in a small scale. I have no experience at all in farming nor I own any land. But I will manage some investment to start with.

I am looking for guidance on how to start the business, minimum requirements, any specilised short term courses available, funding facility etc.

Need advice on the above

Hi

You need to learn from the scratch of farming. The horticulture or agriculture departments hold trainings and you can attend one of them. Please contact the nearest agri department for details on training.

like any IT assignment you will be required to have contengency plan,

how much will you invest in procurring land?
will the capital invested will give you yields?
Banks may not give subsidy for procurment of land?
unlike IT it is unoragnised sector with prices controlled by locals and more seasoned.

well the aboves are negatives.

to be on the safer side, continue with your domain and adapt contract farming to start with, farming if planned doesn t require continues day to day involvment.
