date tree in tamil nadu

hi
we have our farm in erode district in tamil nadu.. heard date plantations are possilble in our area so i want ur advice regarding that.. wher can i get the seedlings.. and how to plant it.. is it the same like coconut tree??? how much of water is required for it??? how to sell the dates yielded??? will they came and pluck it from our farm directly??any advice is useful for us.. kindly reply..
 

There are many date farms in Dharmapuri not heard about erode. you can check with the agriculture department in Dharmapuri they will direct you to farms.
