Where are you on the way to dairy farm?
Can you please let me know what expertise/knowledge you have to take the way to dairy? What are all readily available now to start dairy farm?

1. 8-10 cows an acre of land you need.
2. Identify breeds suiting your area.
3. Learn how to feed and look after them.
4. Construct a good shed, flooring very important as the cows spend most of the time there. Rough flooring needed, note it should not be very rough preferably lined flooring, and draw lines using very thin ropes.
5. Milking machine a must as now a days you cannot depend on skilled labour.
6. Have milk measuring utensils.
7. Try to sell milk directly to end users. Milk collection units may not pay you well.
8. Have a small moped or something to sell milk in nearby villages
or flats / housing colonies.
9. Learn to take care of your cows. De-worm them periodically.
10. Store medicines for fever, dressing etc. Dehorn your cows. All the best.

hi bale rao,

I request u to attend a training for 4 days held in baramati(march 6 to 9)...... which is very much useful for u to start a dairy farm. Contact sampada farms And Consultants, panchasheel towers, secunderabad to know any more details.
