Dairy Farming

I am a retired Air Force Officer and am thinking of setting up a Dairy Farm near Chandigarh. Being new to this line there are many obvious questions in my mind for which I would request your guidance.
1.First and foremost, is it a profitable venture or will I land up sinking my hard earned money.
2. Secondly, if you do suggest that I go ahead, then should I purchase HF cows, Jersy cows or Murrah buffalows. Considering the fat content of their milk, Quantity of milk, Lactation cycle, Life span, Capacity to adapt to Indian conditions, Resale value, Maintenance cost etc. etc. which breed should I go for. Or a combination of them would be a better better idea.
3. Which is the best place to purchase the cows/ buffalows and approximately what would they cost.
4. Do you think I should engage a professional to assist in setting up the venture or one can do without it. If one does decide to go for professional assistance then whom would you recommend, keeping in mind that the dairy farm location would be near Chandigarh.
Thanking you in anticipation,
