Hello Sir
The total area for dairy includes pasture land or grazing area,
fields for growing crops,
corrals for holding cattle in the winter seasons,
buildings including barns,
sheds and housing, and
areas for storing feed and manure.
The comfortable temperature range for dairy breeds of cattle and buffaloes is 150degree C to 270degree C.
Climatic stress occurs when the temperature goes 50 degrees C below or above this range.
High humidity combined with high temperature causes more stress to animals in tropics.
Rainfall in cold climate also causes stress in temperate zone.
Several techniques are available to provide relief from hot weather conditions for lactating dairy cows.
It is important to provide a sufficient flow of air through the building in which the animals are kept to ensure optimum thermal conditions for dairy animals.
Choose breeds and animals well suited to the local environment and farming system.
Vaccinate all animals as recommended or required by local animal health authorities.
Loan from banks with refinance facility from NABARD is available for starting dairy farming. For obtaining bank loan, the farmers should apply to the nearest branch of a Commercial/ RRBs or Cooperative Banks in their area in the prescribed application form which is available in the branches.
