Cultivate around the year based on the rainfall

Hi

One year back I bought an agriculture land of 10 acres in Thalavadi (near Sathyamangalam, Erode Dt, Tamilnadu).

Around 5 acres is of cultivable land and remaining having Rock’s. Also I don’t have free EB connection for water supply and I have already applied for the same. Currently I’m in the process of doing the below for those 5 acres
1) Leveling those 5 acres of land.
2) Build one small house.
3) Fencing for those 5 acres of land.
4) Need to apply for commercial/Normal EB connection

Based on the rainfall forecast I have planned to cultivate 3 acres of Potato and 2 acres of maze. Also, I set a target to complete the above process and do the cultivation by August.

Please Suggest,

1) What are the periods (In months) we can get rainfall in Tamilnadu, Erode district?
2) Is it a good option of cultivating 3 acres of potato and 2 acres of maze, completely based on the rainfall? Or any other options??
(Note: Land is located in a hilly area and we can get average rainfall)
3) By assuming above plan will yield in 5 to 6 months. Can I cultivate any other crop after this??I mean can I cultivate around the year based on rainfall??

what is your soil condition.how much you can invest on land now.there is solution for cultivate around the year. you can go for fruit crops with multi cropping system.you can do rain water harvest in your land so many solutions for cultivate around the year for more detail contact ananyaagrotech@yahoo.co.in
