Dear All,
We are working in the areas of community biogas cooking grid in rural areas with current focus in Maharashtra and around Pune, Kolhapur and Ahmednagar district belt.
The idea is that if a cattle shed/ goshala having 100 to 150 cows/buffaloes have dung enough to produce gas to supply to atleast 30 to 50 houses depending on distance of pipeline.
This system consists of mechanism of filtration and pressure maintaining so that each house gets good quality of gas for cooking.
The connection is metered hence the consumers can be charged as per usage and rates accepted by both consumer a the producer.
Also the biogas slurry can be used for farms / can be sold at better rates than simply selling dung .
There are many benefits
1) Gas obtained for cooking
2) slurry as a fertilizer which is an added advantage
3) source of income for goshala.
4) Good quality pipelined gas for homes in rural area, smoke free cooking environment
5) Money from village remains inside village only hence imports of LPG reduced therefore less burden on economy of our country and making village self sufficient.
We have implemented this type of projects successfully at 5 places in Maharashtra and MP.
If want to know more, please write to me at pankajshirke@gmail.com
Thanking you
Sincerely
Pankaj Shirke
