rough outline of a chrysanthemum project

you can start with the 1000squ mtrs poly house ......conventional polyhouse may have shade nets, foggers, full plastic cover with roll ups to close sides etc.....all this may not be required for mums plantation especially if your doing a single crop in winter only
please refer to my web site for growing method for mums
a simple poly house should probably cost half of conventional polyhouse.....more or less like tunnels should be sufficient .....
if you have 1mtr beds in your poly house you can fit close to 37000 plants of mums in this area, you will need to provide a grid of 10x10 ft lighting using 100 wts conventional bulbs or equivalent CFL lights
Planting by 1st sept will yield flowers through mid november to mid december , when rates are excellent

to answer your questions:-
basic structure like tunnels whose sides are 8 ft and has dome or slanting roofs covered with plastic and shade net only on sides and for apron, should cost about 4-5 lakhs, I guess
economics-
plant cost = 37000*3 =111000
bulbs and lighting = 100 conventional bulbs, wire and holders and shades, app 8000
farm yard manure, fertilisers - 10000 for 1 cycle of 3 months
water and electricity - 2500 to 5000
labour - 42000, 2 pairs at 7000 per pair for 3 months

production - 95% of 37000 stems= 35150 or 3515 bundles
revenue=3515 *70 =2,460,50

considering that you already have a polyhouse the cash in hand after deducting expences will be 246050-171000=75000 in 3 months

The following season you can make your own using existing labour and facilities
Also when you have more than one poly houses , others poly houses remains free after jan -feb to do other short crops except for one where you continue to maintain the mother plants .

hope that answers some of the questions
regards
