Bought Agricultural Land for NRI

Dear Sir

My father was an NRI in 1981. His brother bought agricultural land along with him in the same year. Both of them didnt have the knowledge at that time that they NRIs cannot buy agricultural land. Now my uncle is threatening us that he will tell RBI about this. But at the time of deed my father was not present there and my uncle signed on behalf of him although he was not his POA at that time. So can you please tell me what is our fathers liability and what is my uncles liability?

Suggest you to take a legal help in this regard immediately. I am not sure how many of the members aware about the legal issues involved in it.

If ur uncle has signed on behalf of ur father, it's an criminal offence and as of ur father it is ignorance of law. I need brief facts of the case, to guide u legally.
