Hi
The word BONSAI in the Japanese language means a tree or a plant grown in a shallow tray or a shallow pot. The art of Bonsai by all accounts was born in China, as far back as 200B.C. and reached Japan by 200 A.D. like other cultural influences. The art was perfected to its present form and the whole world knows it as a Japanese Art. A National Bonsai Park is set up at Lodhi Garden in collaboration with the New Delhi Municipal Corporation. The Park houses Bonsai plants looked after by the Association. It can be visited on all days of the week without any entry fee.
Contact the department of horticulture for training on bonsais. YOu can also contact the Indian bonsai association.

Ashwini
