Yes you can. Provided you are able to fill or bottle the gas either comppressed or just stored in a portable form. Its very risky in bottling with a compressor considering the carbon di oxide and suspended impurities.

Its shoulld be known to you how much pure cowdung generated in your farm and If Iam right its should be 8-10kgs from a milk yielding animal and below 3kgs from a calf.

I am not sure whether anyone is there with a national net work to collect the animal urine and at the most it can be substituted as ingredient in your dumping manure yard that is all.

As for as the technology is concerned, there is no commercial feasibility when you go for compressing this cow dung based methane considering the cost of cylinders and a compressor that is developed by a comppany in Allahabad.

Biogas unit

Dear Mr.Badrinath,

I would like to know, is there any company producing or doing research in developing a biogas unit from cow dung? Is it practically possible to use the biogas for flamming? how much gas will be produced with 1 kg of cow dung from milk yielding cow? where i can get details about biogas developing and related matters in tamilnadu? will i get any grant for doing the unit?
