Hello,
I have recently acquired two pieces of land of 20 acres each. I am new to farming and intend to learn/practice/pursue agriculture on both the pieces of land. One land piece has access to perennial water and has red soil. Second land piece is black cotton soil and is dependant on rain for irrigation. Ground water is available at around 200 feet depths.
Kindly advice me on following:
1. What steps should i take to initiate farming
2. What crops are suitable for the two kinds of soild and water availability
3. Any other information that i should know as a novice farmer (fresh to farming)
4. Suggestions to make farming viable.
5. Suggest web sites that would be helpful.
Thank you, Surendra (d_smohan@yahoo.com
