Hello,

I have planted banana at one hectare land during last week of June. There is heavy rain our place and I notice that there is disposition of water at the plant.
Can you please suggest me how to protect the plant during rainy season?

Regards,
Siddhartha.

Hi victorka,

I agree with the other member suggesting to place mud around the base of the banana stem but if the water stagnation is more, you should make arrangements for the water to recede by making ways for the water to leave your farm or by diverting them to an open well. This is possible only when the land is somewhat even.

Other alternatives is to suck up the water by placing coconut husks and cocopeat.

Hi Siddhatrha

Because of excess water, if the leaves have turned yellow apply Salicilic acid spray (Aspirin tablets). Also application of silicon will help plants recover (I would say must). Along with the same you need to have dig trenches around the border to drain excess water from the field (min 3ft deep). Also give a immediate spray of any systemic fungicide repeat 8 days.

Thanks.

Thanks Satish for your suggestion.
You are right that leaves of my plant become yellow.
I will apply Salicilic acid spray. Can you please guide me what will be the concentration?
Also what Fungicide you will advice me for application.

Regards,
Siddhartha.
