BANANA FIBER Apart from the uses, Banana offers a food source of the fiber with excellent commercial value. Fiber is extracted from the pseudo stems of the Banana after the harvest. Banana fiber is a major alternative to pulp industry. Raw material is freely available. The Banana fiber project creates a lot of employment opportunities in urban and rural sectors. (As a wealth from waste concept) Banana fiber is eco friendly and biodegradable comparing to all other synthetic fibers.
ManuallyFiber extraction:-

India has about 5 lakh hactares of Banana cultivation only 10% of the Banana waste (Pseudo stems) is extracted as fiber, mostly the fiber is extracted by manual process, and the yield of fiber is very low and this kind of manual process needs skilled labours.
In the existing manual process, the pseudostems are cut in to bits 60 cm long and 7.5 cm wide. By using a metal scraper (flat and blunt blade), the psuedostems are scraped and the fibre is removed.
An expert worker can extract between 500-600 g of the fibres in a day of eight hours. The process is also messy, as it will blacken the hands of the workers, and result in mail ulcers. The spillage of the juice and the waste pith will also pollute the working environment.
New & latest technology
THE LABOUR-SAVING MACHINE FOR EXTRACTING BANANA FIBRES.
A LOW-COST, user-friendly device for extracting fibres from the psuedostem of banana has been developed through an Agro waste project by “Green India”
"It is a simple mechanical contraption, and it can extract 13 to 15kg fibres from the banana wastes in a day as compared to 500 g a day through the laborious manual process,"
The machine consists of a rigid frame on the roller rotates. The roller is made of horizontal bars with blunt edges, and it is driven by a one hp single-phase electric motor. For feeding the banana psuedostems, adjustable guiding rollers are provided.
"The machine reduces the drudgery, and provides a clean working environment for the labourers. It increases the fibre production by fifty times. The machine-extracted fibre is of superior quality in terms of length, softness, strength and colour," The fibre Rope fetches up to Rs. 40 per kg
ADVANTAGES OF THE MACHINE OVER MANUAL PROCESS
Reduces drudgery.
Fifty times increase in fiber production compared to manual process.
User friendly & economic.
Less maintenance cost and safe to operate.
Clean work atmosphere.
15 kg of fiber production per day.
Superior quality fiber in terms of length and softness, strength & colour.
The new machine will offer a clean atmosphere for work, and it will help the workers to produce more fibres as well as get increased income.
The machine will provide excellent opportunity in by-product utilization in banana, and it will come in handy when the crop gets damaged due to cyclones and floods. It will ensure an additional income of Rs. 7500-Rs. 12,500 per hectare for the banana growers.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Banana fiber extracting machine will be promoted among self help groups, rural & small Entrepreneurs, Banana cultivating farmers
Bio-products out of OF BANANA FIBER
A wide range of eco friendly items can be made out of Banana fiber, being a natural fiber it easily blends with other fiber such as jute and mestha. Products like, doormats, carpets, yarn, rope, geotextiles, travelites, luggage carriers and interior decorative items can be made out of this banana fiber. Printing Ink made by extracting juice, artificial natural diying colour also made by banana extracting juice. Conact:-

We will give a Handicraft trainging from your location with purchase of 10 machines. beneficiarry SHG's / women organization/ NGO's we welcome banana cultivater in All over India join us . we will ready to creat a job oppturnity at your state/ intrested contact us.
