Hello Sir
Uganda uses among the world’s lowest amount of artificial fertilizers, at less than 2 per cent (or 1kg/ha) of the already very low continent-wide average of 9kg/ha in Sub Saharan Africa.
The widespread lack of fertilizer use has been harnessed as a real opportunity to pursue organic forms of agricultural production, a policy direction widely embraced by Uganda.
Through organic farming, Uganda not only gains economically, it also contributes to mitigating climate change, as GHG emissions per ha are estimated to be on average 64 per cent lower than emissions from conventional farms.

In July 2009, the government released a Draft Uganda Organic Agriculture Policy.
The draft policy describes the vision, mission, objectives and strategies to support the development of organic agriculture as “one of the avenues for delivering self-sustaining growth as it provides mechanisms for individual farmers to improve productivity, add value and access markets which are keys to achievement of the Poverty Eradication Action Plan objectives”.

Hello Kirti,
Appreciate your efforts in sharing and educating.

By profession I'm a lead HR in the IT industry and im interested in farming / cultivation. I hold 26 acres near Hyderabad/Andhra Pradesh.
I have been doing backended online research on which crop will produce consistent ROI.

It would be a great help if you could share any good consultants details to contact.
thank you

Hello sir

Sorry for my late reply.
Which horticulture crops are u interested in
can select Fruit crops like Pomegranate, mango for ur area.

If u want to cultivate without much care than just do open cultivation of flower crops such as gladiolus, marigold, jasmine which have never ending demand year round.

U can also think of medicinal crops such as aloevera, melia dubia.

or go for trees like ailanthus excelsa, melia dubia, teak.
