Agri in Mahabaleshwar

Hi.
I have about 15 acres land in Mahabaleshwar, land is next to river.

I am looking forward to get into agriculture/floriculture business. But I am not sure what can be produced here that would give me year round business.

How about Stevia, or Flowers like Roses or Orchids? Can someone plz suggest me what would be a good startup business, as I m a mechanical engineer and do not have much knowledge about agri business.

Dear Sir

u stay is such a good place where any crop u wish is suitable except crops like high humidity loving ones. Roses, carnations, gerbera can be grown with easy in ur place. u can grow them in open too without much care.

mysself vishal nale from phaltan, i read u r post. if u want to start agriculture as a commercial buisness it is good to combine all suitable crops according to climate & season. if u want to start with small investment u should grow vegetables in winter&summer(if water available) on drip irrigation & try paddy in rainy season. If you are able to invest more money and have risk bearing ability you built greenhouses for Flower growing & Exotic vegetable which are very popular in mumbai & pune market & used in five star hotels geting good price also.
