Our herbal industries are getting 80% of the total raw material from our forest but the medicinal & aromatic plants are being exported are 97% comming from cultivation sector only. In addition to this the large scale, cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants such as - Isabgol, Senna, Henna, Guar, Ashwagandha, Kalihari, Safed musli, Mulethi, Ghritkumari, Milk Thistle, Coleous, Lemongrass, Pamarossa, Mint, Basil etc. have been successfully going on.
Medicinal and aromatic plants market in the country is today unorganized due to several problems such as irregular supply of raw material, lack of informatiuon, poor quality of raw material and too much adulteration, that is why India is unable to stand on the international parameters.
Today proper co-ordination and interaction among Indian farmers, pharmaceutical and all stack holders of medicinal and aromatic plants sector is required, so that India can get a proper status in International Market.
