This is shocked to observe that many mango crops owners are selling their farm houses. Is it not a profitable business now days? When they [Farmers] start cultivating trees for mango crops, they imagine handsome profits and then they invest. But after a particular period of time they rush for selling their crops. This is mostly seen in south area.

This gives de-motivation to new cultivators who are going for mango crops cultivation. I am not against for selling their properties and wish, any person may require money for his own purpose but would like to know, why this is being done. There may be plenty of reasons, but surely this is de-motivation to new cultivators when he sees such posts.
All the best to new cultivators for mango crops and to those too who are selling their mango farms.

It is not surprising to know that now a days many farmers are either selling their orchards or in some extreme cases uprooting the trees to make way for something better yielding crop. As i have observed since last five years the returns from mango is dismal. If the farmer is solely dependent on mango then it is very difficult for him to earn enough to buy rice for his personal consumption.

In fact this is the area and time for concerned government agencies to intervene and help farmers in continuing with the mango orchards and help them by way of identifying and encouraging cultivation of other parallel crops like vegetables, flowers etc. The apathy of government is creating disasters and alienating many prospective farmers away from taking up agriculture as profession.

The work done by Tamilnadu Agriculture University in the field of Precision Farming and the work done by Kerala Government in establishing Kisan Vikas Kendra for helhing out farmers in selection of right crop and transferring respective agrotechnology to them. These programmes have made wonders in their area. This should be replicated in other parts of our country.

But are the concerned agencies listening to this???????????????????
