I am a retired AGM of NABARD providing agricultural consultancy. Running a dairy unit is a tedious job. Either you should be going for a very big mechanized unit of more than 100 animals with a regular veterinary doctor etc. or you can have 2 to 5 cows to experience the functioning at it .I have run a dairy farm of 10 cows and found that the profits are not worth the trouble of rearing animals. Better you concentrate growing vegetables using hydroponics or cultivate drumstick or plantation / medicinal plants with lesser daily supervision. For more details email to me at marpally8@gmil.com.
