What is the reason for growing cotton? Are you using Bt.Cotton seeds or indigenous seeds? I am sure there are other options than growing cotton.
I can suggest reducing the working time to a greater extent by first planting sunflower and then plant the tomato around the sunflower so that it acts as a creeper and grows using the suflower as a support. The advantage is you get Sunflower as well as tomato and thereby increase the profit and reduce the workload.
