Hi

Initially to start with 50 is a huge number, try with 10 cows. You can choose a local breed or even exotic breeds like HF and jersey. They yield higher quantity of milk. Please contact a nearby daiuy specialist at Krishi vigyan kendra or NDRI for further technical details.

Dairy Farm

Pl start with small group,say 10 -15 animals,to gain experience,before you
go for full launch of 50 animals.

Pl visit the site calf.co.in and read the samagra padipantalu manual atached
to the site, which will take care of all your knowledge requirements.

All the best.

Dairy Farming

Cow - holstein Fresian, Jersey, Gir,Tharparkar
Buffalo - Murrah,Jaffrabadi

Setting up - please let me know the numbers.See, you can set it up depending upon your investment capacity. Mechanization to the maximum is very important, mechanize to the maximum extent possible.Avoid Labour.

Feeding according to the yield must be your next important step. Sell milk for the best price to the end user. Avoid middlemen. Remember you are doing this job for making money for your family and not to make other's grow richer.

Hi Raj,

i am planning to start up a new dairy farm near kadapa. as of now i doesnt have any knowledge about the dairy process but very keen to startoff. according to my research in internet i came to know that we need to undergo some training in govt dairy institutations. before going further can i know what exactly the total process will be to start off
1) where to begin?
2) how many buffalos to have to begin?
3) how much will be the turn over and profit for a good initial start?
4) how many labour are required?
5) what will be the future of it?
