We need to choose plants that provide larger returns over a period of time and plants that are easier to manage – due to the lack of labor availability. Hence, multi cropping of Jackfruit, Avocado and Litchi – all high value under exploited crops, along with that of exotic vegetables would be able to achieve goals for our farmers better. Smart horticulture is what is needed, not just hard work.
