Why Aseel chicken is over priced?

Hi all,

Every time I ask an Aseel chicken hobbyist about the price of a aseel chick or chicken, I gasp on hearing the price.

What is the reason for high priced aseels other than they go and win fights.

My latest info on aseel chicks...
2 month aseel chick cost-Rs.750
1 year wala-Rs.1500-5000
above 1 year- upto rs. 15000

I want to have more insights on this. Pour in your replies.

I have planned to buy aseels from khammam at andhra pradesh and from adjoining chattisgarh state.

Hello sir
The reasons may be:
The Aseel (also spelled Asil) is an ancient breed from India, originally kept for cockfighting but today kept for ornamental purposes.
Aseel chicken are intelligent, belligerent, and good brooders. The very rare Aseel, also called Asil, originated in India, where it was bred for strength and endurance in cockfighting.
This may be the oldest chicken breed, perhaps as old as 3,500 years, and certainly the oldest documented breed in the world.
The breed spread from India to other parts of the world after India was colonized by the British in the 1800s.
Over the centuries, the breed has been kept pure by game breeders, who have selected only the most pugnacious cocks and hens to breed together.

Laying eggs

Hi there, depends on the Asil variety, the small Asil are known to be very poor layers, sometimes laying just 6 eggs a year, whereas larger Asil can lay around 40 eggs a year. Hope this helps.
