Over the last 4 years, I have developed and managed a dairy farm in Yelahanka ,Bangalore. From a peak production of 150 ltrs/day,I have now brought it down to about 35 ltrs/day - due to the logistics involved in production/procurement of Green Fodder. I believe, this situation is unique to many other farms based in semi-urban areas ,which are otherwise good for marketing fresh raw milk ,with a farm gate return of Rs 30 to 35/lt ,presently.
To tide over this Fodder-limitation, I have resorted to Hydroponic Fodder based on my own system design and realized that the conventional system (8 day,spray or flood/drain, with timers) should be upgraded to vertical farming for another 10 days in open environment , to optimize the operations.
I would like to take in one full-time associate to share my infrastructure and work towards this goal ,for a period of 6 to 12 months. Firms or Individuals, capable of investing/sponsoring an enthusiastic person with a fair knowledge of fabrication & erection, plumbing etc.. are welcome to participate in this effort, on mutually beneficial terms.
Just to update you a bit on my background. I am a Senior Citizen (68 yrs) with formal degrees from IIT & IISc with a Navy (Submarine) background coupled with R&D in Nuclear propulsion.
