Tea polyphenols is natural compound extracted from tea. It is composed of more than 30 substance containing phenolic group, its chemical structure can be sorted four types: catechin type, flavone and flavonol type, anthocyanidin and procrypsis anthocyanidin type, phenolic acid type; among of them, type catechin is the most occupying 60%-80% of total phenols. Catechin type is composed of D,L-C、EC、EGC、EGCG、GCG、ECG and so on, the first three types are the simple catechin ( free type), the latter three types are the complex catechin (ester type). Catechin compound is apt to show oxidation, polymerization and condensation for containing more phenolic hydroxyl group, which is doomed to have fine ability of anti-oxidation and ability of clearing free radical.
Tea polyphenols extracted from tea is taken as natural antioxidant of food, it is used for grease and food containing oil, as continual intensive researching, it has been widely suitable for food, medicine, health products, chemical industry commodities. It's function as follows: anti-oxidation, anti-aging, anti- radiation, anti-ultraviolet, reducing blood fat, reducing blood sugar, anticancer and diseases of cardiovascular resisting, remove free radical, restraining pathogen and get ride of smell.
 Tea polyphenols is listed as GB2760-1996 Food Additive; and in 1997, it is rated as raw material of Chinese herbal medicine.

1 Tea polyphenol 99:TP is 99%(min), Catechins is 80%-95 % ,EGCG is 45%-90%,Caffein is 0.5%(max)
2 Tea polyphenol 98:TP is 98%(min), Catechins is 75%-90 % ,EGCG is 45%-85%,Caffein is 0.5%(max)
3 Tea polyphenol 95:TP is 95%(min), Catechins is 70%-85 % ,EGCG is 45%-75%,Caffein is 0.5%(max)
4 Tea polyphenol 90:TP is 90%(min), Catechins is 65%-85 % ,EGCG is 40%-75%,Caffein is 0.5%(max)
5 Tea polyphenol 80:TP is 80%(min), Catechins is 60%-75 % ,EGCG is 30%-65%,Caffein is 1.0%(max)
6 Tea polyphenol 70:TP is 70%(min), Catechins is 50%-65 % ,EGCG is 25%-55%
7 Tea polyphenol 60:TP is 60%(min), Catechins is 40%-50 % ,EGCG is 20%(min)
8 Tea polyphenol 50:TP is 50%(min), Catechins is 30%-40 % ,EGCG is 12%(min)

Physical and chemical property of tea polyphenols
Physical property: 1. Appearance: light brown, light yellow or pistachio powder.
2. Property: Be apt to dissolve in water and alcohol, the taste is bitter and astringent

Stability: Stable at PH4-8. It is apt to get bad when it meets the strong alkali and acid, shining, high temperature and transition metal.

Safety: No poison

Storage: It is stored in shady and cool, closed, dry place, and keeps away the strong light, the storage period is two years.
