Hello,
I need some tips on starting a Red Lady Papaya Plantation. I have planned to cover 1 acre of land, red soil (limestone mix). The soil is well drained and is free of water stagnation. I have tested my water and it has a pH of 8. The EC of the water too is 8. Can experts here help me if this water is suitable for papaya cultivations and what measures should I take before I start.

The suitable ph value is between 6 and 6.5.
The greater the conductivity, the greater is its salt content.
The eC of ur water is ok. If it is above 10 means ur soil is definitely saline.
Follow a typical application schedule with a fertilizer such as 14-14-14 (113 g) per plant per month during the third through fifth months after planting. Increase this rate increases to (170 g) every five weeks after the sixth month.
For best growth of young plants and good yields of bearing plants, u should be irrigate as necessary to supplement rainfall.
When rainfall is limited, apply up to 10 gal (37.851) of water per tree per day to bearing trees.
