Stirling Engine Generator

Hi Friends,
Is there anyone who is using stirling engine generator for their power requirements in their farms or otherwise. I understand that this technology was discovered some 200 years back but couldn't be put to practical use. If this can be used in agriculture, farmers can benefit a lot since it's off-grid and really cheap. Can anyone throw light on this please.
Regards,

Sir

The Stirling engine is noted for its high efficiency compared to steam engines and the ease with which it can use almost any heat source.
This compatibility with alternative and renewable energy sources has become increasingly significant as the price of conventional fuels rises, and also in light of concerns such as peak oil and climate change.
This engine is currently exciting interest as the core component of micro combined heat and power (CHP) units, in which it is more efficient and safer than a comparable steam engine.

The heat source may be provided by the combustion of a fuel and, since the combustion products do not mix with the working fluid and hence do not come into contact with the internal parts of the engine, a Stirling engine can run on fuels that would damage other types of engines' internals, such as landfill gas which contains siloxane.
