Starting with Diary Farm

I intend to start a Diary farm at Nashik, Maharashtra initially with around 8 - 10 buffalos. I have one acre land with water.

I shall be thankful if some one can guide me on:
1. Where do I get Murrah buffalos.
2. What is the cost buffalow?
3. Is the business worth investing the efforts one puts.
4. How to make buffalo shed.

Ideally - for 10 animals have atleast two acres of land - 1 acre would not be enough for fodder.General ratio is 1 acres can feed six animals.

Murrah buffaloes best palce is Haryana - Rohtak. If you are at nasik - try Parbhani also. for nasik clismatic conditions I would suggest haryana buffaloes

Shed should be elevated by atleast 1.5 feet from ground level. Tachthed roof would be cost effective. Generally animals should be tied tail to tail.If you have money then go for cement flooring. Which will help you in hygiene.
