starting a poultry farm

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and entering a new field of poultry farming.My course of action is something like this:

1. I wish to start with 10000 chicks per batch initially and slowly expand to about 200000 in next five years.

2. I plan to start initially with Suguna chickens. However, I will start my own project once have enough market knowledge and experience.

3. I do not have any land as of now, so want to take a poultry farm on rent/ lease initially for about a year.

4. I have found out that NABARD provide interest free loan for poultry farm.

Now, I want to know what are the problems faced in doing the project on oneself and how to overcome them? what are the procedures for NABARD loan? Does anyone know someone who can help me in finding a poultry farm on rent/lease in Lucknow?

We have 10+acres of land in kanyakumari where we are looking at to start poultry farm. Could you please share with us if you have any documents related to required investment, expected profit, challenges, direct selling vs contract thru companies especially for beginners etc. Let us know if there is any reference near Kanyakumari / Tuticorin / Tirunelveli area who is successfully doing this business.
