some hard facts of Female Sheep / Goat Meat in the Market

Dear All,

This post is for educating the new people who should know / think why the suppliers are supplying Carcass meat to them at 200 Rs/kg instead of very high price of 260- 300 Rs /kg through out India except in Kashmir it is 210 Rs/kg as the Government rate is 190 Rs/kg.
In fact they are supplying female meat or very old age / bad quality / disease Male meat.

Here I am sharing & my knowledge to help traders who should not fall prey to this kind of things.

Some hard facts about Female Sheep/ Goat Meat

1- Very much cheaper than the Male.

2- Less nutrition.

3- Very hard to cook even in pressure cooker.

4- Less juicy, tender and not delicious meat

5- If the supplier supply female meat by mistake or knowingly instead of male meat by giving false information to the meat contractors/ hotels / supermarket and if the above parties discovered by himself or get complains from the consumers that the meat is not cooking well than the meat contractors/ hotels / supermarket start investigating about the fact and surely they will come to know about the true story and they will immediately terminate your contract or in worst case put court case on the suppliers.

What you said is true as all breding ewes are offered for culling only when they cease to produce.by then the meat is more fibrous and difficult to chew and not so juicy.Where as males put on more muscle quite early and most of them are marked for culling and are available at a early age unlike ewes.

Live Stock for Meat

Dear Ravi Bhai,
You are right but all the traders / farmers should first try to investigate why they are getting live stock / meat at a very less price than market.

Is it good quality or bad and as per the demand of the consumers or not?

This field is very new for educated people and many new faces are trying to enter this market to make short term profit by cheating the customers or doing fraud and not picking up the phone afterwards and without sustaining for long time and this will hindered the meat market in India and the affect I am feeling.

one of the worst problem i have seen with most of the people in our country is that cheating the customer and earning 1 time profit without showing the face to customer for 2nd time and the customers also are putting them selves in trouble by not taking the products from good / reliable source but willingly going to fraud traders since their price is less and these suppliers/ traders take the money cannot give continously quality product equivalent that of money taken and make lot of Propaganda.

Here I request all the farmers / traders to sustain in the market for long time and earn not only good name but also money and prestige for their family and country.
