[h=1]Savita Raj Hiremath says Dibakar Banerjee's decision to return award was a personal one[/h]
According to Savita Raj Hiremath, the producer of Khosla Ka Ghosla
(which was the directorial debut of Dibakar Banerjee), the latter only
returned the National Award presented to the film as a whole due to
selfish reasons, which mainly meant attracting media attention.

Dibakar Banerjee along with other major film personalities returned
National Awards presented to them as a way of showing solidarity with
the FTII students against the government. However, Savita disliked
this decision immensely because she felt that the award was presented
to the whole team, and wasn't a personal honour bestowed upon him.

She hates the fact that her film has been involved in the controversy,
and feels that Banerjee, instead of returning the award for political
reasons, did so to attract the media right before his latest venture,
Titli, released. She also said that he did not consult her, the actors
or the team before taking such a decision.
