Refuse-derived fuel (RDF) is a fuel produced by shredding and dehydrating solid waste (MSW) with a Waste converter technology. RDF consists largely of combustible components of municipal waste such as plastics and biodegradable waste. It has high calorific value and comparatively less polluting than other sources. It can be used for electricity generation as well as can be used directly for burning in boilers, kilns etc.
