If its for your own use, it is viable and also depends on which crops you grow. On a longrun it is profitable as your fertility of soil will increase and ultimately your yield will increase. Once the whole plot is converted into organic , then you can cultivate vegetables commercially. If you are growing it commercially certification is required.
