Greetings to all of you. I have about 5 acres of land. I want to develop a poultry farm, mainly broilers for meat on 2 acres of land. Can anyone tell me what capacity i can start on 2 acres of land?? Is is just best to start with full capacity or do you start with small capacity and reach optimum capacity with time?

My land is located in a very remote area and there are no hatcheries close by to source the chicks from. Therefore, I would need to start a small scale hatchery as well. Any thoughts on from where to acquire incubators? What kind of a set up is needed for a hatchery cum poultry? Is it profitable to have a hatchery cum poultry? or is it just better to source 1 day old chicks from other hatcheries (assuming that i can eventuallysource it from some place) and raise them??

Suppose i want to utilize 2 acres of my land and lets say we can have 10,000 chicken, then what kind of an investment am i looking at?? (although, i don't know how many chicken i can raise in 2 acre land)

I would be very helpful if any experts out here can advise. Of course i would like it if you can reply here on the board so that all board members can get involved in the discussion and share the info. please avoid PM if you can.

Initially start it on a small scale. You can contact the suguna Chikens, they do contract farming.
