Hi,

Need help/Information regarding beetroot cultivation.

1. What time of the year is good for beetroot planting?
2. what the duration of crop?
3. what fertilizers and pestisides need to be given at what time?
4. what is the avg yield per acre?

Hi

Beetroot grows best in cool weather, but it can be planted throughout the year. The best time to plant is from early spring to early summer (August, September, October) and again late in summer and into autumn (February, March, April). These are the cool periods of the year. Beetroot does not grow well in summer when it is very hot, neither does it grow well in the middle of winter when it is very cold. IT is a short duration crop (80-90 days)

Soil- light to medium heavy soils. NPK recommended 100:50:70 kg/ha.
Average yield - 250-300q/ha
