Common name: Senna
Latin name: Cassia angustifolia
Description: Senna is a small shrub growing up to 1 meter in height. It has a smooth and branching, pale green stem, and feathery, oval and lance-shaped leaflets. Leaves have distinct veins on their under surface, grayish-green in color. Flowers are small and yellow. Fruit is horned and broadly oblong pod, containing about six seeds. Pod is greenish-brown to dark-brown in color.

Medicinal use: Senna is considered to be anthchiiintic, antipyretic, cathartic, diuretic, laxative, purgative, and vermifuge. It is usually consumed dry in form of a tea. It is most commonly used for its laxative and purgative effect, but it must be taken in a limited period of time and in right dosage. Senna is suggested in treatment of acute constipation, and after rectal surgeries, since it softens the stool and promotes bowel movement. Combined with aromatic herbs, Senna can be helpful in treatment of flatulence or colic. Used externally, it can be helpful in cases certain skin conditions, such as acne and ringworms.

ALOE VERA
Aloe barbadensis Miller
Useful components: The main constituent is aloin, obtained from the gel in the leaf. The other beneficial constituents are: vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, creatin, creatinine, HDL cholesterol, essential and secondary amino acids, minerals (calcium, zinc, chromium, magnezium, pottasium, phosphorus, iron...).

Medicinal use: Aloe Vera has strong healing powers when used both internally and externally. Used internally, Aloe Vera stimulates our immune system, helps stomach disorders by improving our digestive system and destroying abusive fungi and bacteria in the intestinal tract. Dried aloe latex, a substance derived from the leaf, is a strong laxative. Aloe Vera acts as a pain reliever, due to analgesics in salicylic acid. Used externally, Aloe Vera softens the skin, acts as an excellent moisturizing agent, and has a same Ph as the skin. It reaches the deepest body tissues, and therefore has the ability to restore them, proving to be extremely beneficial in the acceleration of the process of wound healing. It can also be used on blemishes and dandruff. Aloe had also shown excellent results in treating facial edema. Used as a mouth rinse, it has shown to be very helpful in cases of cold spores and lockjaw.

Botanical/Scientific Name : MYRISTICA FRAGRANS

Properties / Uses :
IT CONTAINS TWO FAMOUS ALKALOIDS VIZ: - STRYCHNINE AND BRUCINE.
Uses : Strychnos nux vomica is recommended for upset stomach, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation, intestinal irritation, hangovers, heartburn, insomnia, certain heart diseases, circulatory problems, eye diseases, depression, migraine headaches, nervous conditions, problems related to menopause, and respiratory diseases in the elderly.
