Hello Sir
Maggots are fly larvae and occur when flies lay eggs on organic waste. They typically have a 7-day life cycle with fluctuations depending on temperatures and other conditions such as moisture. Maggots are more common in warmer temperatures.
To prevent maggots from occurring prevent mature flies from laying eggs, and control flies.
Find and remove the source – which could be a dead animal, rotting food or the bin.
Sweep up the maggots, and leave them outside in the garden – birds will eat them, particularly if they are left on a bird table.
Boiling water kills maggots, which is useful in bins and other containers where the water can be disposed of easily afterwards
Cover the maggots with lime, salt or vinegar.
