Land Ceiling Act

I am researching the purchase of land in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and while I can see information on large lots of land ( over 500 acres) I am still concerned about the land ceiling Act. I have also seen a web page that says its been repealed, but I cannot see a governmental site that says a company can purchase any amount of agriculture lands for the purpose of an agriculture business. Can someone point me in the right direction that clarifies the land act.

Pl be careful. Even companies cant buy more than the standard acre limit without specific prior govt approval. Title will become defective if anyone purchases above limit or buys a land which is already having land ceiling issue.

I think urban only land ceiling act is repealed ( to faciliate some people to hold more than 72 cents or so!! while progressively making farmer weaker & meaner)

Thanks, I see many acres advertised for sale, how is this possible or can a Indian nation purchase these lands with consent. If I was to get consent from the government which department would I get specific prior govt approval?
