Hi ,
I am interested in start Dairy farming business but my doubt is that
What to do with the male calves born by their cows. I am pure vegetarian.
I do not want to send these(the male calves born by their cows) to slaughterhouse.

Is there any substitute of it ?

You can also use calves to plough the farm field.

Where are you located?
I think in BJP ruled states , there are goshalas where you can go and leave them.
In karnataka, there are many such goshalas.

Dear Kiran88,

If you are going for Desi cows, the male cows will be in great demand for their sexual activity and also for draught work.

Please note that the govt has banned keeping semens of cows other than hf and jersey and hence we need to have more desi male cows.

The reason to keep the male cows is after few years, you need to change the bull and hence you can grow the male cow yourselves and then exchange with others who have similar requirement and thereby reducing issues related to birth defects.
