Dear All,
The most important aspect in agri cultivation or processing is marketing or locating a buyer. While details on cultivation and processing is dealt at length in this forum, marketing aspects are not discussed .

Many new aspirants with a mindset to shift their career to agri, tend to overlook this aspect and start into cultivation/processing to face the challenge at the later stage .

Hence, I request every expert here to touch upon the subject of marketing be it starting a greenhouse, farming or processing units.

Answers to below questions or more would defintely help every aspirant here.

1) How to identify the market/buyers for a product (ex:fruits, veg, flower aromatic oils, oleoresins etc) before cultivation or starting a manufacturing unit. Need the approach.

2) How to identify the current demand/supply scenario for a product.

3) Competitor analysis - Is there any gov agency that can provide this data? 3rd party data (eg,DNB report) are very costly and can't be affordable..

information on market and other information

1.well , for commodities like fruits and vegetable it is well organised each city is having fresh market for wholesale and retail, now days u can also sell your produce to RELIANCE, Aditya birla (MORE) hypermarket, sunday to modnday form fresh, Safal market, food world so many are there only thing u have to find out availability of these shops in your place.
2. for the commodities like medicinal and aromatic plants or any other new product it is bit tough u need to exercise more contact the buyer personally since the sector is unorganized.
3. there are no such agency available but still u can visit APEDA website at least u may get the previous year data but forecast is consider this is the biggest threat in india. for more than 5 yrs ginger price was somewhere Rs.10-15 at azadpur mandhi suddenly price shoot up this year to Rs.35 by the time all most all farmers left cultivating the ginger, it is unpredictable thing (demand & suppy) only experince can give the information.
