I want to start a commercial goat farm 80 kms from Mumbai, Maharashtra. Its a hilly area, which has very high rainfall during the monsoons and is hot and dry during the summer.

My NGO called Best Foundation is organising goat farm trainings. My suggestion is that you undergo some training in goat farming anywhere. Of course I invite you for our training.

1 day training- Non- residential

Training in goat farming by Best Foundation, Pondicherry.

For the last two years Best Foundation has been conducting regular training programmes on goat farming. It had gone to many villages in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and trained many farmers. It had also gone to cities like Bangalore ( on 27-03-2011) trained many people. Highly educated in non- agri field and socially and economically well placed people are coming forward to take up this training.
From November 2011 onwards on- farm- residential trainings on goat farming have been conducted in its Good Shepherd Farm near Pondicherry. Food and accommodation are given in the farm itself.
The Govt. of Tamil Nadu has recognized the training given by Best Foundation. Dept. of Agriculture sends the farmers for the training under ATMA scheme.
Some Banks have already given Bank loans for the goat farming based on the training certificate given by Best Foundation.

I. On the following dates training on goat farming were conducted in Good Shepherd Farm.
1. 5 day training from 14-11-11 to 18-11-11
2. Half a day training on 29-11-11
3. 1 day training on 11-12-11
4. 5 day training from 12-12-11 to 16-12-11
5. 2 day training on 17-12-11 and 18-12-11.
6. 1 day training on 22-01-12
7. 3 day training from 27-01-12 to 29-01-12
8. 2 day training from 04-02-12 and 05-02-12
9. 3 day training from 24-02-12 to 26-02-12
