I would like to setup a fruit drying plant in Himachal Pradesh utilizing the local produce, of which 30-40% is wasted each year.
I hope to utilize some of this bulk and create quality dehydrated apples, peaches, plums, apricots, kiwis, cherries etc using ecologically sound energy sources such as solar dryers, captive biomass plant etc.
I need to identify which location would be optimal, what kinds of total capital investments would be required for a small scale operation, what subsidies apply, how does one go about buying/leasing land for such operations (as I am a non Himachali)
