RESPECTED SIR,

i HAVE A FARM OF COCONUT AND SUPARI AT CHOUL REVDANDA TAL: ALIBAG DIST: RAIGAD SINCE LAST ONE YEAR I OBSERVED THAT THE COCONUT FRUITS ARE GETING SMALLER AND SMALLER BY SIZE AND ALSO FALLS OF SMALL FRUITS. EVEN SMALL SIZE COCONUTS ARE GETTING TUFF AND HAVING CRAKS '

AS FAR AS SUPARI IS CONCERNED i OBSERVED THAT THE SMALL SIZE OF FLOWERS ARE FALLING IN LARGE NOS, ALSO LARGE NOS. OF SUPARI IS FALLING IN THE MONTH OF JUNE & JULLY.

I AM USING C O C AS A FUNGISIDE PROTECTER.

PLEASE SUGGEST EFFECTIVE PESTISIDES .

Shedding of buttons and premature nuts may be observed to many reasons: Provide regular irrigation, requested nutrition to reduce the button shedding.

Ur symptoms seem to be of Boron deficiency.
Manganese deficiency produces symptoms similar to those of B deficiency, but no other common deficiency produces symptoms that could be confused with those of B deficiency.

Foliar spray of 0.2 % (2g in 1 lire of water) borax at the rate of 75 – 100 ml per seedling.
Spraying is commonly practiced when coconut palms are at the nursery stage.
1 year old – Borax 5-10 g/plant per year 2-3 years old – Borax 15- 20 g/plant per year 4 years old and more – Borax 30 -50 g/plant per 2 years

For supari
Infected tissues of the bud should be scooped off and treated with 10 % Bordeaux paste.
Destruction and removal of seed palms and also bunches affected by Mahali and drenching crowns of surrounding healthy palms with 1 % Bordeaux mixture would help in minimizing the incidence of the disease.
Apply 1 kg of lime/tree/year
Apply organic manures @ 12 kg/ tree/year.
