Where are you locateD??? Wher do you want to start a farm??? To start with let me tell you Emu are the second largest flightless bird in the world. Native to the deserts and woodlands of Australia these birds stand about 5 1/2 feet high and weigh about 120-150 pounds as adults.
Emu tend to be friendly, and so curious that they will even follow you around.
Raising Emu can be a very profitable business if you get started right.
First of all you will need a lot of space to start with emu farms. Emus need space to roam freely and if cornered, they can get aggressive by kicking their feet at the target. An area of 3000 square feet is apt for raising five pairs of Emus.
Visit at least two licensed emu farms to obtain a range of ideas on different farming practices before starting. There are close to 100 farms in India while Andhra Pradesh is leading in the number of Emu farms as on today.
